Paperback Index, Hardback, Worldbuilding Panel and Workshop

Some fun updates to alert you to. Firstly, I added an index to the back of Worldbuilding for Fantasy Fans and Authors. Why? Because I needed to look something up and it took me a long time with the hard copy (I usually just use the find function on my computer since I did write it). And I figured, if I wrote it and I still had a hard time finding the info in the paperback, then it's probably impossible for anyone else.

So I spent a long time finding the page number for each concept and noting them down, then added an index to the book going forward. And if by chance any of the 200 people who bought the paperback before the index was added... well, congratulations, you have a collector's item. Also, here's a PDF of the index if you'd like to print it up and stick it in the back. Nerd.

Also, there should be a hardback coming soon, one with color illustrations. I think it will probably be expensive and only myself and my immediate family will buy it, but I thought I'd put it out there. Expect an announcement when its available. And maybe a giveaway. Because why not.

Finally, I'll be appearing at QuaranCon 2021, both as a panelist moderator for a worldbuilding discussion and hosting a worldbuilding workshop.

The panel is headed by some AMAZING authors, and I'm absolutely floored and honored to get to rub (virtual) shoulders with RJ Barker, Intisar Khanani, Andrea Stewart, K.S, Villoso, Evan Winter. These are some incredible worldbuilders, and I can't wait to pick their brains as to their process and where they think the genre is headed. This panel will be on April 12th at 6 pm UK time, and will be free on YouTube.

You can check it out here.

I don't have a link to the Worldbuilding Workshop yet, but it will also be April 12th, at 8 pm UK time, and I think I'll examine fantasy conceits and how they can be used through either top-down or bottom-up strategies to build a world. And, just because I'm a masochist, I'm going to make a world during the workshop. So come see me fall on my face in front of a live (streamed) audience.

Oh, and there will be a handout. Because people love handouts ALMOST as much as they love indexes...
