I've been silent a while, but have not been idle. As my last post alluded, I've been screenwriting again. Or at least should have been were it not for some development issues that unnecessarily left us spinning our wheels for five (!?!) months. But that's taken care of now, and I'm finally writing again. In fact, I should start the finale of the beat treatment tonight. I will, however, not say when I expect this script (or the next) to be finished so as to get back to my book writing. Because I have learned the hard way never to tempt fate.
I have been editing book four of Sol's Harvest whenever I'm not working on the script, by the way. So be ready for it some day this year (knock on wood).
I've also taken on a monthly worldbuilding gig over at The Fantasy Hive where we look at worldbuilding topics after conducting some surveys with fantasy fans on the subject (seems a gimme for a book entitled Worldbuilding for Fantasy Fans and Authors, after all). I did a guest post around the release of the book about Infodump Equity, and it seemed to go over pretty well. It also gives me an excuse to play around with some infographics, the first of which you'll see below.
And finally, I've made 101 Worldbuilding Prompts permanently FREE on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Kobu, etc. That was the goal all along, but I did have to put it up on Amazon first, which I did at the bear minimum of $.99. Then, alas, I got stymied trying to figure out the formatting for Smashwords, which would then allow me to post it for free to all the other sites, which would force Amazon to price-match. After many hours fighting with it for multiple days, I finally threw up my hands and left it at under a buck (which, I should point out, is still A LOT less than other worldbuilders are selling their handouts for).
Smash cut to several months later when I realized you could just hire someone on Fivver for $15 to format it for you, and now it's free everywhere. Huzzah!
