Fantasy Jewelry Giveaway!

Since a very eponymous piece of jewelry played such a big role in The Woven Ring, I figured a giveaway is in order to celebrate it being only $.99 for the month of August. So take a few seconds and makes some clicks to win one of four sterling silver rings hand-crafted by the author himself (me!).

TLDR: Follow me and share on Twitter/ Facebook to score bling.

The long version won’t actually be much longer. My hobby outside of writing is making jewelry, which I have discovered people want a lot more than my books. So, since it is so important in those books, it felt fitting to do a giveaway for these rings. The rules are simple.

Enter by:

So by my reckoning, if you do all four you quadruple your chances to win, which will be picked at random on September 1st. So now let’s look at the prizes.*

<----- Grand Prize: One tiger iron ring sized specifically to you (or whomever you decide to give it to). I believe these came from Australia, and I just now this minute learned that they’re also called “mugglestone,” which might be of interest to some Harry Potter fans. This is one of my personal favorite rings, which means it’s in my heavy wearing rotation.

And not to worry if you’re a lady who finds that band too masculine. We’ll put one together specifically for you.

It's a pretty awesome band, by the way, which I made by soldering four separate strands together, but I digress.

Second Prize: One Paua Shell Ring----->

This is one of my wife’s favorite rings, probably because she picked out the stones on a visit to New Zealand. I think. You can’t really tell, but the band is staggered, which makes it align pretty interestingly on your finger. Also, it really lights up in the sun. My phone doesn’t do it justice.

Third Prize: Two Russian Wedding Rings (for two different winners, obviously) --->

Fair warning, these are really fidget spinners masquerading as rings (traditionally they were made from silver, gold, and rose gold, but these will all be sterling silver because that’s what I can afford). But it’s insanely fun to spin them on your finger, and I had a co-worker once who had one of these who could put sleight of hand magicians to shame with how quickly she could take it off and replace it on her finger when nervous. Boring anecdote, I know, but if you’ve made it this far down on this post, I figure you’re with me to the end.

The top two of these rings will bear my stamp, which once belonged to my grandfather, who taught me some of this and whose tools I still use. Those are his initials, and the line below them is to denote I’m carrying on the tradition. One I hope to impart on my own child someday (who also shares his middle name with my grandfather). Again, pointless anecdote, but if you’re this far down, I figure I got you hooked.

Because jewelry, it's like heroine. Or did I mean heroin?

Both are fairly addictive when good now that I think about it.

So there you go; may the odds be ever in your favor or some other such pithy statement. And if you’ve by some miracle made it this far down, might as well check out my flintlock fantasy novel The Woven Ring while it’s still only $.99. The conclusion to the series should be out by October, so you have plenty of time to get hooked between now and then.

Spy. Traitor. Soldier. Savior. War was hell for former spy and turncoat Marta Childress, but peace may be worse. Hated by both sides in the civil war that tore the nation of Newfield apart, she wants nothing more than to quietly live out her remaining days in the West. But then her duplicitous brother arrives with one final mission. Tasked with delivering the catatonic daughter of an infamous inventor in hiding, Marta must cross the continent to delve deep into the East on a mission that will either save the nation or spark a second civil war. Along the way, she’ll battle creatures composed entirely of dead breath, face assassins armed with deadly glass daggers, lead soldiers in psychic body armor, and face down the devil herself.

*Legal Mumbo-Jumbo: These are not the exact rings I’m giving away because I’ve already made these rings and it’s easier just to make a new one than it is to resize them. Believe me. But I have a companion tiger iron stone to the one featured in the photo, as well as the paua stone, so I’ll make exactly similar rings to the ones seen below.
