Random Things You Do Come Launch Week

I think it was two days ago that the crushing reality that I had a book coming out in under a week hit. It hurt. Mentally I had "work on short stories some more" slotted in this week, which got thrown out the window when I realized how much random stuff I still had/ have to do. So I'm just going to do a little list below for a low-effort post of the week.

  • Upload The Glass Dagger to Amazon and set up preorder (did that a while back I think).

  • Upload it again when an ARC reader spots a few more typos.

  • Create paperback for book three - this is done but I haven't made it live yet since they don't allow preorders for paperbacks. I don't think.

  • Set up a SALE for all three books: Between Feb 2-6th, The Woven Ring will be FREE, The Imbued Lockblade $.99/ 99p, and The Glass Dagger only $2.99.

  • Make some images, both to advertise book 3 and for the sale.

  • Learn how to make a background transparent for ads using only free services (I think they turned out alright).

  • Make Facebook ads to inform people of my sale.

  • Research Facebook Pixel and realize too late I have no use for it.

  • Get Amazon to put back up the link to all the books in my series (it disappeared when I uploaded book 3 for some reason).

  • Put out the Sigil January Newsletter (it's a good one).

  • Update the Sigil site to include my, Rob, and Ben's new releases.

  • Update my own damn site with the new tagline, covers for book 3.

  • Do it again after I forget that the damn cover pops up on a whole bunch of pages that need to be updated separately.

  • Write a guest blog for Fantasy Inn (I really look forward to this one coming out).

  • Put together a book playlist of my own for Fantasy Hive.

Not bad for no training and a suspect visually artist eye. Also being too cheap to buy Photoshop.

  • Track down when reviews are going up on blog sites.

  • Track down ARC readers and make sure they put up reviews on Goodreads/ Amazon come release day.

  • Buy them the preorder book while it's still cheap so they show up as verified reviewers on Amazon.

  • Update the maps in the paperbacks for books one and two.

  • Fix typo in book one that's existed for almost three years. But only in the paperback.

  • Reupload book one a THIRD time because I forgot to update the page numbers when I took out the old maps.

  • Put out this blog post because I somehow got convinced I should blog weekly.

And I think that about does it. I may update this though. Right after I go get some sleep.
